Roti Bank Foundation
Mumbai Roti Bank was founded in December 2017 under the leadership of former Maharashtra DGP D. Sivanandhan. Initially collecting surplus food from events with the help of Mumbai's dabbawalas, it set up its own kitchen in January 2020 and now serves thousands of fresh meals daily to the city's hungry.
Roti Bank Foundation reports the following, on its own site:
- Over 15.5 million meals distributed across seven states
- 21,000 nutritious meals provided daily
