Ekam Foundation

Ekam Foundation is a nonprofit founded by paediatrician Dr. Sailakshmi Balijepally to reduce infant and maternal mortality in India. Based in Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu with a presence in Chennai, it supplements care at primary health centres, district hospitals and tertiary government hospitals, focusing specifically on neonatal and infant healthcare over more than a decade of work.

• 13,114+ mothers
• 25 Government Newborn ICUs (SNCUs) were set-up, operationalized across Chhattisgarh over a period of eight years.
• 26,000+ Frontline workers across 1,421 Gram Panchayats trained on preventing child marriage and violence against children
