Arun Pandey is the co-founder of ARZ (Anyay Rahit Zindagi)[1], an Indian non-profit working on anti-trafficking, women & children and human rights from Vasco da Gama.

ARZ (Anyay Rahit Zindagi)

ARZ (Anyay Rahit Zindagi — 'life free of injustice') was established in 1997 by TISS-trained social workers in the Baina red-light area of Vasco, Goa. Its Mukti Model of rescue, rehabilitation and economic reintegration for trafficking survivors has shaped national practice, including a Supreme Court shift in terminology from 'sex worker' to 'trafficked victim/survivor'.

ARZ (Anyay Rahit Zindagi) reports the following, on its own site:

  • In the last 25 years provided rehabilitation to around 1800 victims rescued from sex trafficking
  • Reached out to around 1,05,000 children and 3,000 service providers on prevention
  • Provided economic livelihood to around 2800 victims of sex trafficking
