Rocket Learning tackles India's early childhood education gap by working through the government's existing Anganwadi (rural childcare centre) network rather than building new infrastructure. It sends WhatsApp-based activities, videos and nudges directly to parents and Anganwadi workers to strengthen learning at home for children aged 3 to 8, at a fraction of the cost of a traditional program. Founded in March 2020 by five former McKinsey, BCG, Pratham and SEWA professionals — Azeez Gupta, Namya Mahajan, Siddhant Sachdeva, Utsav Kheria and Vishal Sunil — the organisation partners directly with state governments to plug its content into existing anganwadi and school-readiness systems. Rocket Learning has stated a goal of reaching 50 million underserved children by 2030 in support of the government's 'Poshan Bhi, Padhai Bhi' early childhood initiative.
