Kalpavriksham Trust was founded in 2011 by Dr M. Banupriya, then a third-year MBBS student, after a hostel fundraising drive she started for a destitute family's cardiac-patient toddler in Thoothukudi. Now led by the Chennai oncologist, the trust runs free medical camps and cancer screening across Tamil Nadu and publishes plain-language material on cancer detection and treatment.
