C.P.R. Environmental Education Centre (CPREEC)

Established in 1989 by the C. P. Ramaswami Aiyar Foundation together with the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, CPREEC in Chennai's Alwarpet is a Centre of Excellence in environmental education. It has documented and restored sacred groves across southern India, trains teachers and students in green skills, runs conservation programmes from the Eastern Ghats to the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, and publishes widely on India's ecological heritage.
