Bani Mandir has worked in the Sundarbans-adjacent villages of South 24 Parganas since 1945, running schools, a hospital and outreach clinics, and livelihood and women's self-help groups for one of West Bengal's most flood-prone and under-served districts. Its long institutional history means it now runs multi-generational programmes rather than a single standalone project.
