Aushadhdaan is the giving of medicine or treatment. In practice today it means funding a surgery, a dialysis cycle, a course of cancer care, or the medicines a family has been quietly rationing.
Health costs are the single largest cause of households falling into poverty in India — an illness in the family can undo a generation of saving. Aushadhdaan is therefore often not only medical help but the thing that keeps a household intact.
It also covers the institutions that make care possible at all: charitable hospitals, mobile medical units reaching villages without a clinic, and palliative care for people no longer being treated for cure.
