Vipula Kadri is the founder of Vipla Foundation[1], an Indian non-profit working on education, women & children and disability from Mumbai.
Vipla Foundation
Vipla Foundation, formerly known as Save The Children India, was founded by Mrs Vipula Kadri after she encountered children sheltering at a Mumbai traffic signal during the monsoon. Working from Bandra East in Mumbai, it builds its programmes on two pillars — early interventions and system strengthening — so that children from vulnerable communities, including children with disabilities, can learn, grow and build self-reliant lives.
Vipla Foundation reports the following, on its own site:
- Reached over 2 lakh children and adolescents across India
- 1.2 Lakh reached through intervention in over 650 villages and slum areas
- 18,000+ women reached through employability skills training and enterprise development
- 2600+ survivors of trafficking rehabilitated through education and livelihood opportunities
