Bandhua Mukti Morcha is a New Delhi-based nonprofit, founded in 1981 by Swami Agnivesh, dedicated to the identification, release and rehabilitation of bonded labourers in India. It has secured the release of over 178,000 bonded labourers, including 26,000 children, through legal action that produced landmark Supreme Court rulings, and has built around 7,000 houses along with education and health facilities for released labourers in slum and tribal areas.

Bandhua Mukti Morcha (BMM) reports the following, on its own site:

  • Secured release of over 1,76,000 bonded labourers in the country, of which 26,000 are children
