NIRMANA

NIRMANA is a New Delhi-based society, established in 1988, working for the social security and dignified livelihoods of unorganised-sector construction workers who migrate from site to site with their families. It supports implementation of the Building and Other Construction Workers Act, provides legal aid on labour-rights violations, and advocates for workers' access to healthcare, children's education and old-age pension entitlements.

NIRMANA reports the following, on its own site:

  • 3,325 migrant and construction workers outreached in 2024 through mass meetings, community meetings, help desks, and 15 migrant/domestic workers rescued
  • 35 school awareness sessions reaching 2,981 students and teachers on child trafficking and child sexual abuse (CSA)
