Margins to Access Project (MAP)

Margins to Access Project, formerly the Migration and Asylum Project, is a Delhi-based legal aid centre working at the intersection of migration, gender and justice. It is the first organisation in South Asia with a formal agreement to represent asylum claims before UNHCR, and also runs a labour-rights desk for migrant workers and support for survivors of gender-based violence.

Margins to Access Project (MAP) reports the following, on its own site:

  • 90% success rate in cases represented, recognised by the UN HQ as a best-practice model replicated in Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia
  • Programmes expanded across 3 states, reaching 30 districts, training over 1,700 paralegal volunteers and empaneled lawyers
