R. BALU is the founder of Buddha Outcast Social Society (BOSS) (1995)[1], an Indian non-profit working on rural & agriculture, education, healthcare and livelihood from Tiruvannamalai.
Buddha Outcast Social Society (BOSS)
Buddha Outcast Social Society (BOSS) is a voluntary organisation registered under the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act, 1965 (Regn. No. 135, dated 26.06.1995), working in Tiruvannamalai and Cuddalore districts of Tamil Nadu. Over three decades it has supported rural-development initiatives in more than 100 villages, focusing on health, children's education and welfare, women's savings-and-credit societies, and employment opportunities for landless labourers, while building community-based organisations of women, children and youth to drive their own village development.
Buddha Outcast Social Society (BOSS) reports the following, on its own site:
- 10 lakh tree saplings were planted to support a green environment.
- 200 Milk Cows were distributed to 200 Dalit community widows through women Empowerment Program
- Revolving Money Distributed to 500 Rural Poor Women to start Income Generation Programs
- 50,000 seed balls were through in the water based areas with the support of LIONS CLUB and local panchayat Administrative.
