Deccan Development Society

Deccan Development Society works with nearly 5,000 Dalit and indigenous women farmers organised into village sanghams around Zaheerabad, Telangana, reviving rainfed millet cultivation and traditional seed diversity abandoned under modern agriculture. Its women's collectives run community gene funds, an autonomous community radio and a local organic millet market, and won the UNDP Equator Prize in 2019.
