Nirmala Venkatesan is the founder of Spark-A-Change Foundation [1], an Indian non-profit working on education from Mumbai.

Career

Venkatesan is a chartered accountant and cost accountant, and an alumna of the India Leaders for Social Sector programme. At Spark-A-Change she leads outreach, impact measurement, compliance, fundraising and donor management.

She founded Spark-A-Change Foundation in 2015. The organisation is based in Andheri West, Mumbai, and also works in Jogeshwari. It runs a Foundational Learning programme of after-school support in mathematics, English and life skills for primary and middle school pupils, and the Anviksha early education programme, which supports pre-primary classrooms in English-medium schools in partnership with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation. The foundation reports having worked with more than 3,000 children over ten years, with more than 300 volunteers, three centres and 48 early education classrooms.[2][3][4]

Spark-A-Change Foundation

Spark-A-Change Foundation is a Mumbai-based Public Charitable Trust registered in 2015 under the Bombay Trust Act. It currently reaches over 3,200 children through in-school and after-school programmes designed to give them access to quality, joyful learning. Its early-education programme, Anviksha, runs in collaboration with partner schools.
