Founder

Gauri Gupta is the founder of Spark-A-Change Foundation [1], an Indian non-profit working on education from Mumbai.

Gauri Gupta is an Indian entrepreneur and a co-founder of the Spark-A-Change Foundation, a Mumbai-based education charity registered as a public charitable trust under the Bombay Public Trusts Act, 1950. The foundation runs in-school and after-school programmes for children from low-income families, pairing them with volunteers who provide literacy teaching, co-curricular activities and mentoring.

She joined the organisation as a co-founder in 2021 and works on corporate social responsibility funding and partnerships. The foundation is headed by its founder and chief executive, Nirmala Venkatesan.

Early life and education

Gupta holds a BA (Honours) in philosophy from the University of Delhi. She is also a certified pastry chef.

Career

Gupta has worked as an entrepreneur and has an interest in the empowerment of women and girls. She came on board at the Spark-A-Change Foundation as co-founder in 2021, where her responsibilities cover corporate social responsibility funding and partnerships.

The foundation works with pupils from low-income backgrounds in schools and colleges in Mumbai, operating an early education programme across some fifty classrooms as well as a women's engagement programme, and collaborates with organisations including Arpan, Ecole Mondiale, Teachers Help Teachers and the Reliance Foundation.[2][3]

Spark-A-Change Foundation

Spark-A-Change Foundation is a Mumbai-based Public Charitable Trust registered in 2015 under the Bombay Trust Act. It currently reaches over 3,200 children through in-school and after-school programmes designed to give them access to quality, joyful learning. Its early-education programme, Anviksha, runs in collaboration with partner schools.
