John Wilson is the founder of Nilgiris Wynaad Tribal Welfare Society (1978)[1], an Indian non-profit working on tribal welfare, healthcare and education from Nilgiris.
Nilgiris Wynaad Tribal Welfare Society
Since 1978 the society has provided free medical care and education to the hill tribes of the Nilgiri-Wynaad region — Kattunaickas, Paniyas, Betta Kurumbas and Mullu Kurumbas among them — from its base at Ambalamoola in the Western Ghats. Part of its funding comes from its own seventeen-acre farm, supplemented by government grants and donors.
