Purkal Youth Development Society (PYDS)

Purkal Youth Development Society runs a CBSE-affiliated school from Class I to XII in the semi-rural village of Purkal on the outskirts of Dehradun, educating children — predominantly girls — from deeply needy families at no cost to them. Alongside academics it provides nutrition, healthcare and full co-curricular exposure, with guidance that continues into higher education and employment.

Purkal Youth Development Society (PYDS) reports the following, on its own site:

• 232 alumni pursuing higher education
• 139 alumni successfully placed
