Eleven professional women — doctors, lawyers, accountants and social workers among them — founded Sunshine Society in June 2013, and members still work for it on an honorary basis. Its programmes sponsor children's education, run after-school study support and career guidance, and organise Senior Citizen Action activities across seven states.
