Dr. Gladys Sumithra is the founder-trustee of Development Focus [1], an Indian non-profit working on education and livelihood from Bengaluru.

Development Focus

Development Focus is a Bengaluru-based non-profit established in 2006 that promotes relevant, quality education for marginalised communities by building the capacity of civil-society actors such as schools, self-help groups and grassroots organisations. It works across children's education and literacy, disability, micro-finance through self-help groups, rural development and vocational training. Past programming has included a decade-long basic-education initiative across very poor districts of Odisha, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh, largely serving tribal communities.
