Founded in December 1982 in Panaji by retired civil servant Percival Noronha and fellow astronomy enthusiasts, the association runs the Public Astronomical Observatory in Panaji, the first public observatory in India, supported by Goa's Department of Science, Technology & Environment. It organises sky-observation sessions, workshops, lectures and exhibitions across Goa for students and the public.
