Manthan Sanstha

Manthan Sanstha has worked in the water-scarce villages around Rajasthan's Sambhar Salt Lake since 1998, where brackish groundwater and social exclusion compound hardship. Its programmes span drinking water, night schools and education, community health and solar energy, and it reports reaching more than 490 villages and 50,000 households over twenty-five years.

Manthan Sanstha reports the following, on its own site:

  • Manthan’s water project has been in the run for the past 25 years. It built watersheds and implemented water regulation and harvesting systems in various villages and had an impact on around 50-60 villages. In the current date, Nosal Village has the highest total storage capacity of 252,792,674 liters of water
