Founder

Vandita Morarka is the founder of One Future Collective [1], an Indian non-profit working on human rights, mental health, women & children and lgbtq+ & inclusion from Mumbai.

Vandita Morarka is an Indian lawyer and policy advocate who founded One Future Collective, a feminist, youth-led non-profit organisation, in Mumbai in 2017. They are the organisation's chief executive.

One Future Collective works on feminist leadership development, community mental health and healing, legal aid and research and advocacy, and describes its aim as advancing social justice through both people power and more equitable institutions.

Early life and education

Morarka holds a bachelor's degree with honours in economics and political science from Sophia College, Mumbai, a law degree from Government Law College, Mumbai, and a master's degree with honours in public policy from the University of Mumbai. They later took a master's degree in development studies at the Institute of Development Studies in the United Kingdom as a Chevening Scholar.

Career

Before founding One Future Collective, Morarka worked in political consulting, strategic philanthropy, policy and legal research, advocacy and human rights litigation.

One Future Collective was founded in 2017 with the aim of nurturing youth leadership for social justice; the organisation says its work has since reached more than two million people. Morarka leads its strategy, fundraising and programming.

They served on the board of CIVICUS from 2020 to 2023, are a trustee of the Internet Freedom Foundation and advise the Pleasure Project.

Recognition

Morarka is a Chevening Scholar and holds fellowships with Acumen, Change.org, WomenLift Health, GP Birla and the Swedish Institute's Leader Lab.[2][3][4]

One Future Collective works for the right of every individual to live a life of safety, dignity and belonging, building towards a world rooted in social justice through collective action and what it calls radical kindness. Its work spans feminist leadership development, community building, healing and justice and mental health support, consulting for organisations seeking to change, and research and advocacy.
