Uttam Teron is the founder of Parijat Academy [1], an Indian non-profit working on education and tribal welfare from Guwahati.

Parijat Academy

Parijat Academy was started in 2003 by Uttam Teron with Rs 800 in a family cowshed in Pamohi village on the outskirts of Guwahati. Today it provides free education, hostel facilities and skill training to more than 400 underprivileged children, many from Karbi tribal villages in the Garbhanga hills.

Over 350 students from 10 tribal villages on the outskirts of Guwahati, Assam receive free or highly subsidised pre-primary to high school education across its two schools.
