Arushi Society
Arushi Society is a Bhopal nonprofit, formally established in 1992 out of earlier volunteer work reading lessons to blind students, working toward a just and equal-opportunity society for people with disabilities. It runs the Koshish inclusive preschool preparing young children with disabilities for mainstream schooling, has trained over 300,000 teachers in inclusive education, produces accessible resources such as Braille transcription and an audio library, and advocates for accessibility in public institutions and electoral systems, including introducing Braille on electronic voting machines.
Arushi Society reports the following, on its own site:
- More than 300,000 government school teachers in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh sensitised on inclusive education for children with disabilities, thus far
