Navya Naveli Nanda

Navya Naveli Nanda is an Indian entrepreneur and gender-equality campaigner whose social work centres on widening women's access to health information and to paid, skilled work.

She started Project Naveli to give women in India the resources and opportunities needed to close the gender gap, taking her cue in part from policy elsewhere on free menstrual products and from what she describes as the stigma attached to menstrual and maternal health in India. She is also a co-founder and chief marketing officer of Aara Health, a company producing affordable, evidence-based health products for Indian women alongside public information on subjects that are rarely discussed openly.

In 2021 she co-founded Nimaya with Samyak Chakrabarty, a non-profit registered as the Foundation for Future Ready Nari and run on the premise that a young woman's prospects should not be set by her background. Rather than conventional vocational training, Nimaya teaches generative AI tools and contemporary workplace skills, places participants on remote projects with large companies, and works to position them as examples within their own communities. Its GenAI Ready Naari programme and Future Naari Fellowship have run in Maharashtra, Haryana, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, reaching cohorts including farmers' daughters in Faridabad and Kurukshetra, the daughters and wives of police constables in Mumbai, and women from rural Rajasthan. The organisation reports more than 10,000 women trained.

Nanda has argued publicly that corporate social responsibility spending in India should move away from compliance and from obsolete skills training towards preparing women for automation, a case she has put at industry forums and in interviews.[2][3][4][5]
