Ms. Kamila Tyabji is the founder; also styled 'founder-chairman' of Women’s India Trust (WIT) (1968)[1], an Indian non-profit working on women & children and livelihood from Mumbai.

Women’s India Trust (WIT)

Women's India Trust dates back to 1968, when Kamila Tyabji began training unskilled women in Mumbai to stitch sari petticoats for sale. It has since helped generations of women earn a regular income, building the Kamila Tyabji WIT Centre and a girls' hostel at Panvel and a teacher-training programme affiliated to SNDT Women's University, while selling the food, linen and craft products its trainees make.
