K. Viswanathan is the founder of Mitraniketan (1956)[1], an Indian non-profit working on education, rural & agriculture and tribal welfare from Vellanad.

Mitraniketan

Mitraniketan runs a residential school, a People's College, a Rural Technology Centre and a Farm Science Centre in Vellanad, Kerala. It serves rural youth, tribal communities and marginal farmers, and holds UN ECOSOC special consultative status.

An average of 200 children educated every year through its free residential school
Working since 1956 to support children and families in rural Kerala
