James Mackintosh is the founder of The Asiatic Society of Mumbai[1], an Indian non-profit working on arts & culture and education from Mumbai.
The Asiatic Society of Mumbai
Founded in 1804 as the Literary Society of Bombay, the Asiatic Society of Mumbai is housed in the iconic neoclassical Town Hall at Horniman Circle. A member-run learned society and public library, it preserves rare books, ancient manuscripts, coins and the Sopara relics, runs research fellowships, lectures and journal publications, and digitises its collections through the Granth Sanjeevani online archive.
