Muktangan

Muktangan runs a network of seven fee-free English-medium municipal schools in Mumbai's G-South Ward, training local low-income women as teachers to deliver child-centred, inclusive education to over 4,000 underprivileged children, plus outreach teacher-training reaching thousands more.

Muktangan reports the following, on its own site:

• 3,800+ children directly benefitted through active learning year on year
• 97,000+ children indirectly benefitted through outreach projects
• 1,000+ teachers and teacher educators developed
• 99% average school pass percentage over 9 years in SSC examinations
