Prakruthi Charitable Foundation

Prakruthi Charitable Foundation, based in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, was established in 2008 by Dr. Kalpana Sringar and Dr. Uday Shankar. It runs a rehabilitation center for patients with mental illnesses such as schizophrenia, using medication, counseling, skills training, and psycho-social rehabilitation to reduce family burden and help patients return to mainstream society.

Prakruthi Charitable Foundation reports the following, on its own site:

• Rehabilitated about 2,500 cases so far, which comes to about 100 to 150 cases a year
• The centre has formed more than 100 volunteers since its initiation
