Chetna Gala Sinha is the founder of Mann Deshi Foundation (1996)[1], an Indian non-profit working on livelihood and women & children from Mhaswad.

Mann Deshi Foundation trains rural and semi-urban women in business skills, financial literacy and entrepreneurship, working alongside the Mann Deshi Mahila Sahakari Bank founded by Chetna Sinha in Mhaswad, Maharashtra.
Mann Deshi Foundation reports the following, on its own site:
- 400,000 women have participated in the women's empowerment programmes
- 90,000 accounts with the Mann Deshi Sahakari Bank
- 50,000 people in the community have benefitted from access to clean water
- 9,000 girls benefited through the bicycle programme to ensure access to schools
