Anisha Sharma is the co-founder of Careleavers Inner Circle (CLiC) Forum (2021)[1], an Indian non-profit working on orphans & child care and livelihood from Jaipur.
Anisha Sharma is an Indian social entrepreneur and a co-founder and chief executive of the Careleavers Inner Circle (CLiC) Forum, an organisation supporting young people leaving institutional care in India. A care leaver herself, she joined the organisation as co-founder in 2022 and has campaigned for aftercare provision for young adults who age out of children's homes. She was named in the Forbes India 30 Under 30 list in 2026.
Early life
Sharma is from Delhi and spent her early years in an orphanage, an experience she has cited as the basis of her work with other care leavers.
Career
The CLiC Forum was founded in 2021 by Girish Mehta, also a care leaver, who began by running a WhatsApp group for around eighty people. Sharma joined as co-founder in 2022, with a particular focus on the difficulties faced by young women leaving care, and became chief executive.
CLiC works on the principle of being run by care leavers for care leavers. It helps young people obtain identity documents, and provides safe housing, financial assistance, education and career guidance, counselling and skills training through a helpline and an online portal. By the mid-2020s it reported a community of more than 2,500 care leavers across India.
In 2023 Sharma raised the situation of care leavers at a national level, and CLiC's advocacy was followed by a central government instruction to states to compile verified databases of care leavers and to provide aftercare services.
