SPWD works to prevent and reverse degradation of land, forest and water resources across India, building sustainable rural livelihoods through community-led farming systems, forest resource management and tribal rights programmes, with regional offices in Delhi, Ranchi and Udaipur.

- SPWD's Climate Resilient Farming System project (with Karl Kubel Stiftung) worked to enhance livelihoods for 800 small and marginal farming families in Joypur block, Purulia district, West Bengal, establishing 27 farmer groups comprising 440 farmers (285 women, 155 men) and 12 resource groups, per the 2024-25 annual report
