Shri Sarwan Kumar Ji is the founder of Nishkam Sewa Ashram (1975)[1], an Indian non-profit working on elderly, orphans & child care and healthcare from Ludhiana.
Nishkam Sewa Ashram
Nishkam Sewa Ashram was set up in 1975 by Sarwan Kumar Ji and fellow citizens of Ludhiana and was formally registered as a trust in 1983, on the principle of 'service above self' offered without regard to caste, creed or religion. It runs an old-age home, a facility for orphaned and abandoned children, and a hospital that treats poor patients free of charge, alongside the 40-year-old Nishkam Vidya Mandir school and vocational training centres. The ashram also organises free medical camps, mass marriages for families who cannot afford one, cloth and ration distribution, free catering at civil hospitals, and a cow shelter. It says it has served more than 100,000 needy and underprivileged people since it began.
