SAATHII (Solidarity and Action Against The HIV Infection in India) is a Chennai-headquartered nonprofit, founded in 2000 and registered as a charitable trust in 2002, working for universal access to rights, health, legal and social services for communities marginalised on account of HIV status, gender or sexuality. It works from eight offices across India, serving people living with HIV, LGBTIQA+ communities, sex workers and prison inmates through direct services, research, training and advocacy.
SAATHII reports the following, on its own site:
- Svetana programme worked across 361 districts in 22 states and union territories, reaching 10.45 million pregnant women with HIV counselling and testing services
- 1,58,423 follow-up contacts made with 21,672 HIV-positive pregnant women and mother-baby pairs by 235 field coordinators (2019-20)
