Founder of Heal-A-Child Foundation

Sabina Xavier is the founder of Heal-A-Child Foundation (2010)[1], an Indian non-profit working on healthcare from Hyderabad.

Heal-A-Child Foundation

Heal-A-Child Foundation (HAC) is a charitable trust incorporated in Hyderabad in June 2010 to fund medical treatment for children who would otherwise not survive their illness simply because their families cannot afford hospital care. Children are directly referred by partner children's hospitals, which treat them while HAC funds the cost — from roughly ₹1 lakh for standard newborn intensive care to ₹8-20 lakh for cases such as transplants. The Foundation does not restrict itself to a single illness category, making it one of the few Indian child-medical charities that supports any sick child in need, run through a 'Be a Champion' individual-donor sponsorship model.

Heal-A-Child Foundation reports the following, on its own site:

  • With an unwavering dedication, the foundation has already safeguarded the lives of 2000 children in its fifteen-year journey.
  • Heal-a-Child has supported over 780 cases so far, including many newborns and children below five years old.
