Working from Villivakkam for over eighteen years, Surabi supports destitute children with education, healthcare and nutrition while helping women towards economic independence. Its current initiatives include the Maithreyi mentoring programme for girls and Mangai, a sanitary-napkin manufacturing project, with a children's home named Brindavan planned.
