Regi George is the founder of Tribal Health Initiative (1992)^[1], an Indian non-profit working on healthcare, tribal welfare, rural & agriculture and livelihood from Sittilingi.

Tribal Health Initiative

Tribal Health Initiative was started by doctors Regi George and Lalitha Regi in the Sittilingi valley of Dharmapuri district, Tamil Nadu. It runs a base hospital, a community health worker programme, and organic farming (Svad) and Lambadi embroidery (Porgai) livelihood initiatives. More than 90 per cent of its team is drawn from the Malavasi, Lambadi and Dalit communities of its field area.
