Lakshyam was founded in 2012 by a social entrepreneur who brought together a group of like-minded people to work on child education, holistic child development and women's empowerment. Based in Delhi, it works with communities in India's urban slums and rural areas, putting street children into the formal schooling system, supporting children in remote areas with toys and books, and raising the income of women through livelihood programmes that turn leftover fabric, katran and gotta into dolls, bangles and other craft products.
