Payal Nath is the co-founder of KADAM[1], an Indian non-profit working on livelihood and arts & culture from Kolkata.

KADAM

KADAM is a Kolkata-based nonprofit founded in 2006, working with rural artisans across six Indian states on natural-fibre crafts including sabai grass, bamboo, sikki and Madhubani painting. It has trained over 10,000 artisans in partnership with organisations such as HCL Foundation, Titan and UNESCO to build sustainable, skill-based livelihoods.

KADAM reports the following, on its own site:

  • 40% increase in income
  • 100% access to larger markets
