Nanaji Deshmukh is the founder of Deendayal Research Institute (1968)[1], an Indian non-profit working on rural & agriculture, healthcare, education and livelihood from New Delhi.
Deendayal Research Institute
The Deendayal Research Institute was founded in 1968 by Nanaji Deshmukh as a 'think and do tank' applying the philosophy of Integral Humanism to rural reconstruction. Since 1991 its flagship work has been the Chitrakoot Self-Reliance Campaign on the Madhya Pradesh-Uttar Pradesh border, alongside programmes in Beed, Nagpur and Gonda covering income generation, water and sanitation, health, climate-resilient agriculture and forestry.

- Its Krishna Devi Vanvasi Balika Aawasiya Vidyalaya residential school at Majhgawan in Satna district, Madhya Pradesh, is home to more than 3,650 tribal girls
