N. Vanitha is the founder (established by) of Sharanalayam (2001)[1], an Indian non-profit working on orphans & child care and disability from Coimbatore.

Sharanalayam

Sharanalayam began on 29 January 2001 with seven orphaned children in rented premises near Pollachi, founded by N. Vanitha, known to residents as Thaiamma. The Coimbatore organisation now shelters over 150 orphaned, destitute and mentally challenged women and children, providing care, education and livelihood activities including a product-making unit.
