Mr. Ranjan Kumar Medhi is the founder of Nature's Observer (1996)[1], an Indian non-profit working on environment and animals from Guwahati.

Nature's Observer

Nature's Observer is an Assam-based nonprofit focused on environmental conservation and wildlife protection, active in Lower Assam and Kamrup district since 1996 and formally registered under the Societies Registration Act in 2016. It was established by the late Pankaj Sarma and Ranjan Kumar Medhi. Its programs include wetland preservation, human-elephant conflict mitigation, and environmental education in schools.

Nature's Observer reports the following, on its own site:

  • Successfully planted more than 40,000 saplings throughout the state, contributing significantly to ecological restoration and green awareness
  • Adopted 16 primary schools in Kamrup District over the last two years for environmental education and awareness
