Mr. Ambadas Chavan is the founder-secretary of Caring Hands[1], an Indian non-profit working on tribal welfare, education, elderly and women & children from Ahmednagar.
Caring Hands
Caring Hands is a voluntary organisation founded in 2015 by Ambadas Chavan, whose social work began in 2003 and was catalysed by his time at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. It works with historically marginalised and denotified nomadic communities — including Fase Paradhi, Bhilla, Dombari, Kaikadi, Ghisadi, Dhanagar, Vaidu, Katkari and Thakar groups — across Ahmednagar and Pune districts of Maharashtra. Its Adv. Ramrao Chogale Seva Kutir in Pali village houses and educates 42 underprivileged boys, and it also runs the Swanand Goshala caring for 18 cows. The name 'Caring Hands' is shared by unrelated organisations abroad (including a US 501(c)(3) in California) and in India (a separate Navi Mumbai trust); this entry refers specifically to the Ahmednagar-based tribal-welfare organisation.
