Voluntary Medicare Society
Voluntary Medicare Society, established in Srinagar in 1970 by Prof. Dr. Mir Mohammad Maqbool, is Jammu & Kashmir's oldest medico-social organisation for persons with disabilities. Its Bemina campus houses the Shafaqat Rehabilitation Centre and special school, a kidney care centre, prosthetic and orthotic units, and a wheelchair sports club.
