Peermade Development Society is a Kerala nonprofit working with tribal communities, small farmers and women in Idukki district on organic spice and tea production, microfinance, rural technology and community health, running sister ventures including an organic spice export unit and an Ayurveda pharmaceutical unit.
Peermade Development Society reports the following, on its own site:
- Had promoted 1,994 self-help groups covering 27,958 families in Idukki, Kottayam and Pathanamthitta districts of Kerala as of 31 March 2019.
- Its PDS Organic Spices unit at Kuttikkanam supports about 2,500 small and marginal organic spice farmers in Idukki district, Kerala (2018-19).
