M. L. Chandratreya is the founder of Jyotirvidya Parisanstha (1944)[1], an Indian non-profit working on education from Pune.
Jyotirvidya Parisanstha
Formed on 22 August 1944 by eminent citizens of Pune, Jyotirvidya Parisanstha (JVP) is India's oldest association of amateur astronomers. It runs monthly overnight star parties outside Pune, free public programmes for eclipses and planetary events, an annual basic astronomy course, telescope and book libraries, study tours to GMRT and IUCAA, and hosted the first All India Amateur Astronomers Meet in 1991 and India's first Messier Marathon in 2012.
