Lobsang Phuntsok is the founder of Jhamtse Gatsal Children's Community[1], an Indian non-profit working on orphans & child care, education and environment from Lumla.

Jhamtse Gatsal Children's Community

Jhamtse Gatsal Children's Community was founded in 2006 by Lobsang Phuntsok near Lumla in Tawang district, Arunachal Pradesh. It is a residential community and school for children from difficult family circumstances in the surrounding Himalayan villages, combining education with organic farming, natural construction and clean energy. Its work was the subject of the Emmy Award-winning documentary 'Tashi and the Monk'.
