CHIRAG (Central Himalayan Rural Action Group)
CHIRAG was founded in 1986 to improve the quality of life of families in the Central Himalayan region, with special emphasis on women, children and the disadvantaged. Based in Village Simayal, Nainital district, it works across health, education, livelihoods and natural resource management in over 200 villages across four Uttarakhand districts, promoting community-owned management of shared resources.
CHIRAG (Central Himalayan Rural Action Group) reports the following, on its own site:
